Two young Afghani refugees have joined with a humanitarian worker to create an interactive notebook called My Unfinished Story. It assists people who may have experienced traumatic events to regain a sense of belonging, confidence, and purpose.
My Unfinished Story guides readers through a series of questions and information-gathering activities to help them feel connected to their heritage and hopeful about the present and future.
The content of this interactive notebook is based on growing research about the far-reaching benefits of feeling part of what are called "inter-generational narratives"--the stories of the people, places and events that influence who we are.
Chiang Kai-Shek said, "We live in the present, we dream of the future and we learn eternal truths from the past."
My Unfinished Story helps develop a similar perspective.
